The New American Hymnal [NAH] - Post 3

I had an epiphany this morning.  Don't ask me when it came to me, because those are details you just don't need to hear.  The idea went something like this:

I'm not longer going to post about The New American Hymnal.

Why?  I am going to begin writing a book.  I will not be selling it, however, I will be giving it away for free, in printed form, e-book versions, and PDF downloads.  How is that possible, you may be asking.  Well, the truth of the matter is, it isn't impossible, because I am doing it for God's people, my brothers and sisters, and this is how it'll be completely possible.

As of now, the book will be two fold: 1) God created music for us to use to worship Him, not make money off of, and 2) Worship leaders must ignore the marketing fanfare and use their talents that God gave them to created a worship atmosphere away from the marketed faux worship sets created by big business.

Once I'm done this book (expect at least 6 months), I'll start promoting it and we'll see where it goes. In all honesty, I don't expect anyone to really get this idea.  No one really focuses on worship music, and those who do, are the overworked worship leaders who need a half dozen songs to play on Sunday.  They don't have time to recreate worship, right?

I'm writing it to force people into a new direction of worship.  To make them understand there is another, more responsible road to walk down.  I'm also writing this, for my own purposes.  I think it's time God wants me to finally get a stand on where I belong, and I'm still searching for that place.  I feel like I'm out in left field, picking grass, while the rest of the team is doing stuff.  I'm not lost in this world, at all.  I have a reason to be out in left field, and while people are running the basses backwards, I can focus on what God has for me to do.

Grace and Peace,
Jesse

PS: I don't normally ask for this kind of thing, but pray for me while I write.  I know I'll have my struggles to keep it away from being all about me, so keep me in your prayers.  Thank you, and God bless.
